If you are a complete beginner and want to 'learn the ropes', or you want to learn to lead or to push your grade then why not book a Taster Session.

You will be taught all you need to use the top rope walls and bouldering walls. The following will be covered:

• Tying in using a figure of eight knot
• Fitting and adjusting a harness
• Belaying using a recognised belay device
• Bouldering

At the end of the hour session your instructor will assess whether you are competent to stay and use the wall with no further charge that day. This is generally the case for adults and older children. You will be able to use the wall without instruction in the future unless the instructor expresses a safety concern.

During this 1 1/2 hour session you will be taught all you need to use the lead walls safely. Before you book a lead taster session you should have experience of climbing top roped and belaying. Ideally you should be competently climbing British 4c.
The following is covered:
At the end of the hour session most people are competent to use the lead walls. If this is the case you can stay and use the wall with no further cost and use the lead walls without instruction in the future.
