Bouldering at AWCC
Awesome Walls has four individual bouldering walls. From easy traverses on vertical walls to hard 'roof' boulder problems there is something for everyone. What are you waiting for? come and have a go!
The traverse walls
These consist of two vertical walls, both about 8 metres long. The first is 2 metres high and flat, the second is 3 metres high and includes an arete in its middle. Both walls have several colour-coded traverses set for beginner to intermediate climbers and groups, however, they are ideal for everyone to use to warm up and down.
Wooden bouldering wall
The wooden bouldering wall overhangs by 20° with a small roof at about half height, above this is a shallower headwall. There are coloured problems, from easy jug fests to sloppy nightmares and everything in between. Fun for all the family.
Featured bouldering wall
The featured bouldering wall is 12 metres by 4.5 metres of resin fun! Varying between vertical to mildly overhanging, there are many possible problems to try. If you suffer from a lack of imagination or feel the need for a challenge our staff will happily guide you. This wall also has coloured problems set with bolt-on holds, ranging from easy to downright desperate.
Awesome bouldering cave
The bouldering cave has walls of many angles from slab to roof; everything for your training needs. The main section is a 45° overhang, ideal for getting you cranking hard. There is a range of existing problems to try, or why not set your own for others to enjoy? Just ask a member of AWCC staff when you next visit.
