CLIMBING COMPETITION
With a growing number of schools regularly participating in indoor climbing activities and with the inclusion of indoor climbing in the Olympics - we have established a national event for youth climbers to engage with our sport in an exciting environment!
Last year, we welcomed schools from all around the country to the 6th annual Irish Schools National Climbing Competition – this year we’re gearing up for an even more Awesome event! With a format that encourages participation and team work – this event is ideal for both complete beginners looking to try something adventurous and for experienced young climbers hoping to secure the national title for their school!
This year's format will allow schools to select a convenient date and time to suit their availability within a window from 26th of February until 22nd of March.
A fun and great atmosphere is guaranteed regardless of age or climbing experience!

Primary – Junior & Senior Infants
Primary – 1st & 2nd Class
Primary – 3rd & 4th Class
Primary – 5th & 6th Class
Secondary – Junior Cert
Secondary – TY & Leaving Cert
All competitors will receive an event t-shirt!

Main Team Event
Welcome to the 5th Irish Schools Climbing Competition!
We have formatted this year’s competition to help make the event fun for kids and easy for their parents and teachers – all with an ethos that encourages participation and teamwork.
This event is designed for both complete beginners looking to try something adventurous and for experienced youth climbers hoping to secure the national title for their school!
To help create a positive experience and friendly environment for kids, the competition is primarily a team competition therefore each team must meet the following criteria:
Consist of 4 Climbers. Team members must compete in the same category. Teams can be single or mixed-gender.
Schools can field as many teams as they wish.

Individual Participation
The Main Team event is accompanied by an individual competitor ranking allowing smaller groups or individuals keen to compete a chance to represent their school.
If you booked as an individual, you will join another group for your session to ensure you have some moral support but all climbs will be individually scored.

Grand Final
The two highest scoring teams and individuals from each category in both Dublin and Cork will be invited to compete in the Grand Final in Awesome Walls Dublin on April 25th for Primary Schools and April 26th for Secondary Schools.
